Prize Fight Awaits with Milton

ROSWELL—All good things come to an end. It was nearly 3 years ago that the Hornets walked out of Ray Manus Stadium without a win. 19 consecutive Regular season and State Playoff wins ended Friday night vs. the #3 AAAAAAA ranked Tigers in the Hornets Nest last Friday. The last defeat at Home was on October 3, 2014 vs. Wheeler. However, the Hornets did not go quietly. After spotting Archer a 24 point lead at the end of the first half, the pride filled Hornets fought back to a 31-26 deficit with nearly 6 minutes remaining in the game. An errant snap over the head of the Archer punter could have been huge as several Hornet defenders surrounded the Tigers Punter but miraculously he was able to get the punt off. Taking advantage of the Hornet Defense’s shutting the Tigers offense down in the 2nd half, the Hornets had the ball and crossed mid-field with 2 minutes to play enroute to a potential game winning score when Archer’s corner jumped a 3 step route and took it to the house for a final 37-26 victory.

“Team 68” now looks forward to what will be a highly charged. emotional contest with arch-rival Milton. The Eagles will be sporting a 3-1 record as they enter Ray Manus Stadium on Friday Sept. 29.
